About the office/school
The National School of Arts and Sciences is one of two national schools in the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Law and Business. The National School is based on two distinct campuses in Fremantle and Sydney. The School of Arts and Sciences delivers a practical, ethical and industry-focused education in diverse areas of study such as the liberal arts, communications and media, counselling, and science, with a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs on offer.
About the role
The National School of Arts and Sciences seeks an experienced academic leader to serve as Associate Professor and Discipline Lead for its Counselling programs. Based at either the Sydney or Fremantle campus, the role provides academic leadership in program coordination and delivery while maintaining strong industry connections, fostering excellence in teaching, research, and professional practice and oversight of professional accreditation processes.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will drive innovation in curriculum design and delivery while maintaining the highest standards of student experience. Leadership responsibilities include overseeing teaching staff, strengthening existing partnerships, and developing new relationships with external stakeholders to enhance professional placement experiences and research outcomes.
Qualifications, skills & experience
Qualifications including a PhD in Counselling or a closely related field together with a track record of teaching excellence, program coordination experience, and quality research with demonstrable impact in the field of counselling will ensure success in the role.
